Go to Gibby's website (it's either in his sig or his profile). He knows what's up.

I am not sure but I think it is a 72. I will have to get the serial number off of it.

Hey Gibson Thunder, My EBO has a different head stock then what you have on your page. It is like a normal gibson head stock with 2 chuncks of wood cut out on either side and the tuning heads point back towards you not straight up and down. Can you explain?

Yeah it is like the one on the left minus the bridge pickup and mine has walnut wood grain finish.

right on! The slotted headstock was around from late 1969 through 1971 only. The slotheads were narrower at the nut and usually thicker front to back than earlier EB series models.

Are those models of EBOs rare? My firend got one at the same time I did. His is a cherry woodgrain finish. The odd thing about his is that there is maybe 2 smal nicks on the entire bass. I thought it very odd to find an EBO as old as it was in such excellent condition.

They are around alot less than solid headstock models...not any more valuble, but rarer.. A typical EB has some finish checking, nicks & buckle rash...The better the finish, the higher the value, of course...unless its a refin...

delayed post... Laughing I was just looking through some old posts & caught an unanswered question! Heritage Guitars are awesome! When Gibson was bought out, They moved production to Nashville, Tn- The original Gibson factory workers & managment started their own company & bought the original Kalamazoo Gibson building (in use from 1903 or so). so, in all reality, Gibson turned into Heritage! Great axes from Heritage.
