Hi, I'm planning on buying my first bass. I've been playing drums for years and i think i need to learn another instrument. I'm looking for something quite cheap (on a budget) but good. something i wont have trouble selling on when i move up.
Any suggections?
thanks!

This question has probably been answered close to a million times here on the board but that's not your fault.

Squier, Ibanez, ESP, Yamaha, Rogue, and I'm sure there's more, all make good 'starter' basses. You'll never be able to sell any of them for much (depending of course on what you get). For example, my first bass was a Squier P Bass Special - $200.00. Plenty good to get started on, I sold it 6 months later for $100.00. Nobody wants to pay top dollar for a used Squier.

I suggest you get to a music store with some decent selection and try some of these brands out. You should be able to find a decent starter bass for less than $200. Figure out what feels best in your hands.

Or buy a "bass pak" which usually contains a cheap bass, a little practice amp, and some extra's like picks, strap, etc.

Good luck.

I agree with the squier thing, good to get started on, but little to no value later, but i would never get rid of mine, i've shared too many experiences with it.
