I tried one of these out recently and it was definitely good at giving off that "vintage" vibe, but almost too much so. For starters, it's UGLY. I would choose anything Fender has produced over this bass as far as looks go. Secondly, it's not half as versatile as a P/J style bass.... or anything with modern electronics, for that matter. Any thoughts?

Never played one but I like the way it looks. I also dig simplicity.

It looks like the "Sting" signature. I could do without that.

Say what you mean Gibby, don't mess about *raised eyebrow*

Personally although I like Fender, I don't like the look of that, too clean, no style, but hey waddoo I know Confused

I think those old fenders look great. I agree with Mau...Simplicity is attractive. That is why I love Telecasters.

I like simplicity, too, but I hate the boxy, plain-jane style of Telecasters and the first couple years of P-basses. I like the sexy curves of a Strat or a modern P, myself. They feel so good and look so cool.... Teles just gouge you in the hip with their square, ugly sides. Eww.
