EBs are the best. They have better tone for a longer time than most other strings and I don't have to go broke buying them. I would never even consider paying 80 bucks a pack. When people rave about Thomastik-Infeld or Elixer, I just kind of roll my eyes. Like this: Rolling Eyes

Any other Ernie fans?

EB's are CRAP. I feel sorry for you dude.

I kid. I joke.

They're fine. I use GHS pretty much for the same reasons. Good tone, inexpensive, last a decent time. I'd use EB's if I could't find GHS. I've used 'em before on my guitars with no problem.

EB's just plain rock. I like how they didn't buy into any cheesy gimmicks to sell their strings. Other companies sit around and dream up what they can coat their strings in next.... NanoWeb.... PolyWeb.... Black Stuff....

I have some EB`s on me squire-super slinkys as light as I could find......They sound pretty decent now that I have some new pickups--the stock pup was twangy, rattly,clanky..sounded like a brass acoustic guitar underwater... Laughing

Thanks for that enlightened, well-thought-out, detailed opinion.

I broke the A string when I first used EBs too. Only I tightened them too much appearently. I just don't like the brand at all.

*shrugs* well, I don't know what your deal is. Everybody I've known who plays EB (and that's A LOT) is satisfied with their lifespan.

What do you use bassman? Elixers? Maybe your just used to them lasting forever. I'm an EB fan just because I haven't ever used anything else.

I wasn't satisfied with the life of my Ernie Ball strings either. I used GHS for a very long time and have just recently switched to D'Addario strings.
