*Holy Censor, Batman* straight. I just don't think everyone thinks so. Kinda like the Alembic forum. _________________ Sometimes we ride on your horses

That is becasue Rics are in the 1000 to 3000 dollar range. Alembics are in the 3000 to 15000 dollar range. _________________ Sometimes we ride on your horses

Actually let me say that I again. Instead of 3000 to 15000 for alembics it should be 3000 to at least 30000 for an alembic. _________________ Sometimes we ride on your horses

My Alembic cost me.....
*Dr. Evil impression* ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!
Seriously, I don't have a lot of experience with Ric's but from what I've seen, heard (and even played) they're awesome basses. Plus, unlike a lot of newer, up-and-coming basses, they have history. A lot of history.
Before he permanently switched to a Fender P, Waters (the MAN) played a Ric. That was back in the Barrett days..... paisley shirts and all.

| I'm personally not a Rickenbacker fan. There is alot of other brands out there that do basses better. I dunno, Maybe I don't have enough experience with them. What's a good rickenbacker bass for me to try? |

I think Rickenbackers are just a taste some people have. When I bought my 4001 the guys laughed and said that he hated this bass and that they were hard to play. I think they are great and a pleasure to play. _________________ Sometimes we ride on your horses

I wish I still had my 70s Rick 4001 fireglo, that I was forced to part with, along with my bass rig.
You know your finances suck when you end up selling things you love just to survive.
That Rick 4001 sounded wonderful through the Ampeg SVT tubehead, and 810 cab I sold together with it!
The guy who bought it all from me played his lead guitar through the Ampeg and blew out half of the cabs speakers a week later, and I warned him not to do such a thing when he bought it.
Some people just won't listen eh! lol
Anyway, Rickenbackers are kickin' basses! |

sounds like it was an excellent set up. The guy you sold it to deserves your foot in his *Horse's Patoot*. _________________ Sometimes we ride on your horses

I tried a rickenbacker guitar today and I didn't like it at all. It was really short and the pickups took up so much space... never been able to try a rick bass though. _________________ Hey. |
