| I've got a pretty simple problem that I can't seem to solve. I purchased a BassPOD a few months ago and played around with it till I got 4 or 5 sounds that I really like but on 2 of them I have a terrible 'hiss' when I change position on the neck. I have the compression almost maxed out to add sustain and that seems to be the cause of my problem. I have a Dean acoustic bass that has the same problem but is solved with the "presence" control. I was wanting some suggestions on how to take the 'bite' off the strings without having to switching to the toneless flat wounds. |

| It sounds like you've answered your own question. Take it easy on the compression. Too much of anything could be causing unwanted noise. Just try tweaking until you get a clean signal. If it's only a couple of patches that "hiss" then I suspect the problem lies in certain parameter levels. |
