I like the unusualness(?)of that bass!
I think the pick guard is very distintive, and really draws my attention to it. |

Hey, you're new! Welcome aboard.
I've never played a Victory Artist, but I think basses that stand out from the crowd are kind of cool. Personally, I've been spending a lot of time with my old Squier P/J, having just outfitted it with a new set of pickups. I can't tear myself away from P's. They're just too perfect, but I would definitely give a VA a chance, assuming I can find one.
Anyway, hope you like the boards. Anyone who is a dead-ringer for a young Kim Gordon (that's a compliment) is ok in my book. |

Thank you!! yeah you should try the Victory though. When I got it, I didn't know anything about the bass. I just thought it looked cool and had a great sound. Now I am in love with it. Yeah it's a little heavy, but if I can handle it, then you can. lol!
It's funny because I am getting compared to these female bassists that I haven't heard really before. Like Kim Gordon and the pixies. I really want to pick up their cds now... Normally I get compared to D'Arcy from the Smashing Pumpkins. _________________ http://www.the4thphase.com <---my band

Kim Gordon is one of my favorite bass players. I wholeheartedly recommend anything by Sonic Youth, especially Daydream Nation and Washing Machine.
SY on the Simpsons.
EDIT: Here's Kim playing a six-string.....
Hey, what kind of music does your band play? Do you guys have any mp3s? (I might have missed them) |

Awww, I'm sorry. I'd take you if I could
I've missed concerts that I've wanted to see. I'm still kicking myself for missing Weezer two years ago. And I had to miss Lollapalooza this summer, and THAT'S the worst. Anyway, SY is an awesome band.... you'd definitely like them if you're into the whole indie scene. I listen to a lot of that stuff.... Violent Femmes, Pavement, Television, Elvis Costello... bands like that.
BTW - Your band sounds awesome! Do you write at all? I'm a songwriter/lyricist kinda guy. I consider myself more of a "troubadour" than solely a bass player. I'll listen to the rest of the songs soon and let you know what I think.... so far they're really cool. |
