I have bought items over the years, U know the stuff you buy to make U play better I have been playing bass now for about 6years. I must have $2K worth of pedels, effects boxes, Drum machines and even a keyboard. Let me tell you none of which make you play better they just stop you from putting you money where it belongs...lessons and new basses. What to do.

There are many things you could do. Ebay comes to mind. If you don't need the $$$'s maybe a struggling band in your area or even a school. Just depends. There is always someone somewhere coming up behind you and could use some help.
Good luck with what ever you decide. (been there).

Sell it to get money to buy more gear or trade it for more gear.

If you ever get seriously into recording you may find that you'll want all that crap. If not then sell it. Want ads, ebay.

I was in a similar situation. I recently took all the stuff to a used music store that advertised their great prices for buying used gear. Well, I can tell you it was shocking how little my gear was worth. The owners had every excuse for low balling the price...we get too many of those peddles; that peddle isn't popular; these basses have improved greatly since your model came out; this keyboard has dust; etc., etc.

If you really want to get rid of your gear, try to sell it in a newspaper classified ad, sell it on E-Bay or just give it to a school. You can deduct the value as charity from your taxes.

Oh, I forgot to add that I went back to that store and some of my gear was priced at nearly new prices. I wanted to croak.

Exactly! Music store generally won't give you dick for your used gear. I went to trade in a MM Stingray for a new Fender AM DLX P and they only gave me $450 for it, and I gave them the case too! Luckily the Fender had a ding and I got an extra $150 off of it so I made out pretty good.
