Not if you want to. It's not like it's all that much different. Just more real estate to work with.
Just make sure you get a good handle on notes and scales on the 4 string so you won't find the 5 too foriegn. The low string on a five is usually (but not always) tuned to B instead of E, so it my take some getting used to. |

| I got to try one today... I liked it a lot but it might take a little gettin used to considering the strigns are closer together... but I'm used to palying guitar, too so it shouldn't be too hard. |
