Shocked

Hi

just starting to take my bass playing seriously so i need a little help. I wanna get some new equipment so i need to know what manufacturers to stay away from. If you could help me out that would be really cool...
If you could tell me about your setups that would be wicked!

thanx

What style do you play? do you need a rig that can fill a bar or just a practice amp?

tools bass is sorta clean & p-bassie- have you looked into Trace Elliot or SWR rigs? The old (pre-gibson) Trace GP-12 heads are pretty awesome- 12 band EQ, most with as much power as you`ll ever need unless youre playing in stadiums or something & they`re extremely clean sounding... as far as basses, I think the other folks here would have a better idea on what to recomend, Im into old skool fuzzies, id end up making you sound like Jack Bruce or something... Very Happy

I play an Ibanez 6-string through a PA head with bass/treble adjustment only and run through and old BOSS ME-6B bass floor module. This may sould like a rag-tag setup (because it is), but I have found the sound that works for me (and my budget) in there somewhere. Truthfully, I used to be into lots of effects and sound tweaking with gear, but now I mostly use the knobs on my bass to get what I want.
